Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill Itinerary

After you arrive in Kathmandu, you will get transferred to a hotel. Our staff and representative will pick you up at the airport and help you arrive at your accommodation. After an early breakfast, we start our trek from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It takes around 35 minutes to arrive at Pokhara from Kathmandu from where we will take a scenic bus drive to Nayapul. Our Annapurna Base Camp trek via Poon Hill itinerary starts with a scenic trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga.

After having a sumptuous breakfast, we will start our trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. We then take on a scenic trail with many ancient settlements that provide you a taste of Nepalese culture. Terraced farmed hills with green pasture, scenic waterfalls, and locals busy in their village lifestyle of agriculture and animal rearing is a highlight.

We will ascend a steep hill to Ulleri on a stone staircase. There are old-style houses with slanted roofs and a dense forest full of rhododendrons and pine trees. You will arrive at Ghorepani Village with the settlement of the people of Magar community. After arriving at Ghorepani, you will spend the night at a teahouse.

The trekkers will need to trek before dawn for a perfect view of sunrise from Poon Hill. Poon Hill (3210 meters) viewpoint known for a spectacular view of the golden Himalayan sunrise. The trekkers can observe 12 snow peaks of the Annapurna range of mountains including Machhapuchhre and Dhampus.

After this once in a lifetime opportunity, you will trek back to Ghorepani. We will have breakfast, and the trail then leads uphill to stony steps before descending through a forest where there is much diverse flora and fauna. After arriving at Tadapani, we will stay overnight at a tea house.

We will have our breakfast, and start our trek to Chomrong. You should trek early to Chhomrong along easy easy trails as it descends the hill. There are settlements including Chuile and Ghurjung that you pass through to arrive at Chomrong.

Moreover, the snow-capped mountains will enchant you from various viewpoints along the trail. You will arrive in Chhomrong after almost 6 hours of trekking. We will spend the night at a tea house in Chhomrong.

We will have a sumptuous breakfast, we start our trek from Chhomrong to Dovan. You will trek for around 5 to 7 hours to reach Dovan (2600 m) above sea level. We will then take a Steep descent till Chhomrong Khola and then climb uphill towards upper Sinuwa and is one of the most challenging parts of the trek.

There is various vegetation and a wide range of flora and fauna in the region. The trail passes through rhododendron, fern, oak, bamboo forest after Sinuwa as it gets dense till Himalaya hotel. We will further pass through the barren area and Annapurna glacier before arriving at Dovan and we will stay overnight at a teahouse.

After having breakfast, we will start our trek to Machhapuchhre base camp. A gentle trail will lead you through a riverbank and then take a strenuous uphill walk to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. From the Machhapuchhre base campsite, you can get mystical views of Annapurna I and Mt. Hiunchuli. The glacial lakes, serene landscapes are some of the best highlights so this trek. We will spend the night in Machhapuchhre base camp.

The trail passes along easier trails on the sloppy hills. The trail then leads you to Kuldihar early morning as you ascend uphill. You can take a hot water bath in these hot water springs. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Jhinu.
