Detailed Itinerary - Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek

After having early morning breakfast, we will go on a scenic flight from Kathmandu to the lake city of Pokhara. There is incredible natural beauty in Pokhara including glistening blue lakes, serene waterfalls, and beautiful mountain views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre Himal.

You can explore around Pokhara and then drive to Syauli bazar where you arrive after a short drive of around 2 hours. You can trek on stone-paved trails to arrive at Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a Gurung village that provides magnificent views of Annapurna peaks. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Ghandruk.

Maximum altitude: 2,355 m

After early morning breakfast, we will start our trek from Ghandruk on a stone-paved climb to arrive at the village. A short climb later you will reach Kimrong Danda, a ridge where you can find many tea-shops and lodges. After a downhill descent into the deep forest, we will arrive at Kimrong River valley.

There are many farm fields and terraces along the trail. You will then climb a steep hill to reach Chomrong, which is the last village settlement before arriving at the Base Camp. Moreover, we will descend downhill, alongside the Chomrong river, and then take a sharp uphill to Sinuwa.

Sinuwa located in a high ridge provides you with outstanding views of snow-capped mountains, and green Hill landscapes. Annapurna Himalaya range will spellbound any treker along the trail. We will spend the night at the tea house in Sinuwa.

After morning breakfast we will start a trek, from Sinua to Deurali. Trekkers will need to walk across the forest trail on a winding path. There are dense wood and bamboo trees that you need to cross to arrive at the next settlement of Bamboo. Bamboo small temporary settlement with many tea houses.

This village located at a river gorge has many rhododendrons, pines, and bamboo trees. Gradual descent into the woods from Bamboo will take you to Dovan, next to the Modi River gorge. Winding trails along the way will then take you to a destination of the Himalaya Hotel.

There is a large Hinko cave just below the majestic mountain peaks of Annapurna South and Himchuli. From Himalaya Hotel, we will continue our downhill trek alongside the Modi River. We will trek further to arrive at the Deurali with many tall tree lines and Alpine bushes and stay overnight.

We will have an early morning breakfast and start our trek for the day. We will trek steeply alongside the Modi Khola that leads us to majestic Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The Base Camp just below the north face of the Machhapuchhre is also known as ‘Fish Tail’.

We will take a rest and explore around Machhapuchhre Base Camp before continuing our journey to the Annapurna Base Camp. We will begin trek passing through the beautiful landscapes of Annapurna Sanctuary. There are short ups and downs before we arrive at a huge plateau within the sanctuary.

After a few hours, we will arrive at the ultimate destination of Annapurna Base Camp. The Annapurna Base Camp is also the maximum altitude of our trek at 4,130 m. There are other mountain peaks including Vara-Shikhar, Gangapurna, Annapurna South that you can observe from the Base Camp.

After enjoying the Majestic views of the Annapurna range of mountains from the Base Camp, we will start our return trek. After a downhill trek of around six hours, we will arrive at bamboo. We will continue our trek along the tree lines and forest trail. We will rest and stay overnight at a lodge in Bamboo.

We will have an early morning breakfast and head back to Chomrong. After arriving at Chomrong located at a hilltop, we will visit Jhinu which is a small village settlement. Jhinu is also famous for natural hot springs where you can relax after a taxing trekking journey.

After descending downhill for about half an hour alongside the Modi-River, we will arrive at the hot water springs. After the downhill trek, we will reach Kyumi village with many green farms. Finally, we will drive to Pokhara and stay overnight at a hotel.

We will take you to Kathmandu on the transportation of your choice. You can travel on a tourist coach, private car, or take a flight back to Kathmandu. After arriving in Kathmandu, you can stroll around the city, go personal shopping, and enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the Thamel area. Monsoon Packing List for Annapurna Circuit Trek

The journey starts with a scenic early morning flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. We will then take a 2-hour long drive to Syauli Bazar. The journey starts with a trek from Syauli Bazar to Ghandruk. We will then trek from Ghandruk to Sinuwa Danda via Chomrong.
