On this day, you will fly to Lukla in the morning. The flight lasts around 35 to 40 minutes. The stunning sights of beautiful settlements, villages, forests and mountains can be seen during the flight. You will officially start the journey on foot from Lukla. It serves as an entry point for several trekking routes in the Everest region and presents great scenery of the hills and mountains.
You will rest briefly in Lukla and then begin trekking heading towards the charming Phakding village. The guides will help you navigate. They will share interesting stories while porters will go ahead, carrying the main baggage.
You will leave Lukla and venture through the Dudh Koshi River valley. You can see beautiful village settlements, monasteries, farms and prayer wheels along the way. You will walk through Chaurikharka and Ghat village and finally reach your stop for today, which is Phakding.
Namche Bazaar: 3,440 m
Trek Duration: 7 to 8 hours
The trek on this day begins early in the morning. This day is very exciting as your stop for the day is the picturesque Namche Bazaar. The scenery along the way is beautiful. You will trek through tranquil forests and cross the suspension bridges along the way.
You will follow a series of upward and downhill paths and cross the suspension bridge of the serene Dudh Koshi River. From here, you will make your entry to Sagarmatha National Park. at Monjo. Afterwards, you will cross the river and ascend gradually to reach Namche Bazaar.
As you arrive at Namche Bazaar, you will be amazed by the vibrant nature of the town. The town is a famous tourist hub with several trekkers and climbers. In Namche, there are shops, cafes, hotels, banks, restaurants, and bakeries. You will stay at a cozy lodge in Namche Bazaar overnight.
Day 5 is your acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. An acclimatization schedule is essential to reduce the possibility of altitude sickness at the higher altitudes. Your destination on the 6th day of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is Tengboche. You will trek along tranquil trails while witnessing beautiful views of the Everest range mountains. On this day, you will trek from the picturesque Lobuche and head towards Everest Base Camp. You will walk along a ridge with steep trails towards the Khumbu Glacier. You will pass through a rocky moraine leading to Gorakshep.
